CHARLOTTE – In a stunning comeback at the 2023 Famous Toastery Bowl, WKU Football overcame a 28-point deficit, securing a historic 38-35 victory in overtime against Old Dominion. Quarterback Caden Veltkamp, named Offensive MVP, orchestrated a remarkable performance, throwing for 383 yards and five touchdowns, while Dalvin Smith's three one-handed touchdown grabs contributed to WKU's unforgettable comeback. Head Coach Tyson Helton commended the team's warrior spirit, emphasizing the significance of the win, as WKU concluded the season with an 8-5 record. Despite Old Dominion's early 28-0 lead, WKU's resilience, highlighted by Sportscenter Top-10 plays, resulted in a thrilling overtime victory, marking the fourth-largest comeback in college football bowl history.
