Galloway-Velazquez was named the conference’s defensive player of the week for the second time this season, while Williams was tabbed the league’s top rookie for the third time.
Galloway-Velazquez collected his third double-figure tackle game of the season, notching 10 stops, adding a blocked kick and a pass breakup. With Hampton threatening to tie the game at 17-all in the fourth quarter, Galloway-Velazquez broke through and blocked the Pirates’ extra point attempt, helping the Camels retain the 17-16 lead.

Williams has produced 1,200 yards passing, ranking ninth on the CU single-season charts, with 12 TD passes (tied for fifth with Kameron Bryant’s 2015 number). The Atlanta, Ga. product is the first Camel to throw and receive a touchdown pass in the same game in Campbell’s modern era.
Through eight weeks of the 2019 season, Camels have earned Big South player of the week honors 11 times.
The Camels, receiving FCS top-25 votes for the fourth straight week, will make their Big South road debut on Saturday, traveling to Gardner-Webb.
