BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After setting Campbell single game and season rushing records, De’Shawn Jones has been named Pioneer Football League Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Jones ran for a school record 201 yards and three touchdowns to power Campbell to a 39-9 win at in-state PFL rival Davidson Saturday.

Jones shares the PFL’s week 9 honors with Morehead State’s Justin Cornwall, who hauled in 10 passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ double-overtime win over Drake.

A junior from Greensboro, N.C., Jones carried the ball 19 times with touchdown runs of 51, 59 and two yards in the win. Coming into the game with 745 rushing yards for the season, Jones also broke Brian Hudson's 2013 single season Campbell rushing record (884), and now has 946 yards with two games remaining on the Camels' schedule.

Jones posted his fourth and fifth runs of 50 or more yards on the season, recording his fourth 100 yard rushing game of 2015, and fifth overall.

He is the second Camel to earn PFL weekly honors this season, following Ugonna Awuruonye’s defensive player of the week award on Oct. 3. Awuruonye was also named the STATS Defensive Player of the Week.

The Camels will head to San Diego on Nov. 7 for their final PFL road test of the 2015 season. Campbell returns home on Nov. 14 against Jacksonville. For tickets, please visit GoCamels.com/tickets.
