Carolina punter Worth Gregory is one of 80 candidates for the 2014 Ray Guy
Award, which identifies the nation’s top collegiate punter, the Augusta Sports
Council announced Friday afternoon.

The Fort Mill, S.C, native leads the American Athletic
Conference with a 46.0 average punting 24 times for 1,105 yards. He has booted
seven balls for 50-plus yards with a season-long 63-yarder against N.C. Central
in his Pirate debut, while placing five punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard
line.
The 80-player list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists to be announced on November 14. Following the semifinalists announcement, a national body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, coaches, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will vote for the top three finalists, who will be identified on November 24.
The presentation of the Ray Guy Award will be featured on The Home Depot College Football Awards live on Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 pm ET on ESPN.
