CHAPEL HILL – The schedule has been set for the North
Carolina High School Athletic Association’s state football championships next
month.
The eight championships will once again be held at three
locations, including Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, Carter-Finley Stadium in
Raleigh, and BB&T Field in Winston-Salem. One game will be played on Friday
night, December 13, with the remaining seven scheduled for Saturday, December
14.
The 2-A classifications will play their games at Kenan
Stadium, with the 2-AA final on Friday night at 7:30 pm and the 2-A game set
for Saturday morning at eleven o’clock.
Carter-Finley will host the 4-A class and one of the 3-A
championships. The 3-A title game will
be the first of the tripleheader, on Saturday at 11 am, followed by the 4-A
game at 3 p.m. and the 4-AA at 7 p.m.
At BB&T Field, the 1-A game is scheduled for 11 am,
followed by the 1-AA championship at 3 p.m. and the 3-AA final at 7 p.m.
Time Warner Cable will provide live coverage of all eight
football finals.
BB&T is the official sponsor of the NCHSAA football
championships. This will be the 100th NCHSAA state football championships, held
during the Association’s centennial celebration.
